Manufacturing Process Engineer

As a member of our Engineering team at our shades production facility in Ashland, VA, you can develop your Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain skills through projects and rotational training. Through successful project completion, you will be empowered to grow with Lutron in all areas of manufacturing and production development. 

You will be responsible for many phases of the manufacturing process, such as:   

• Working closely on new product launches to conduct Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) analysis of new products 
• Assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals 
• Manufacturing and assembly tooling specification and prototype
• Supporting manufacturing from prototype builds through transfer to a long-term build facility 
• Supporting ability to meet customer demands by resolving engineering issues.  
• Conducting root cause investigations, development and implementation of solutions 

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and manufacturing of consumer products that will end up directly in the hands of our end users. You will be exposed to: 

• Collaborating with design engineering and manufacturing plants 
• Presenting data and results to key stakeholders 
• Industry best practices for mid to high volume manufacturing of consumer products 
• Working in a highly cross functional team; Quality, Production, Scheduling, Warehouse, Etc. 

• Candidates motivated to solve problems and continuously improve manufacturing and supply chain processes 
• Bachelor’s Degree: Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.
• GPA: Minimum 3.0 GPA with official transcripts 
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time; domestic and international
