Overview

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer position in the Benelux region and Germany (residential channel).

Position Summary:

Following the 5 Principles of the Company, the Sales Engineer will be responsible to:

  • manage our accounts through supporting the existing dealer network with first line technical- and customer support and help the customers navigate through the organisation.
  • manage and create new generated sales and accomplish the sales objectives in the territory in a sustainable and profitable way.
  • create demand, build professional channels and grow sales of Lutron lighting control and window treatment solutions in the Benelux market.
  • create demand, manage sales and develop our residential channel in Germany.
  • support out-of-territory projects being specified and influenced from the Benelux, and work with the in-territory Lutron sales teams to surround the job.

Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Operate as an account manager for our existing dealer network by offering first line support.
  • Educate the dealer network on our new technologies and product updates by means of customer presentations and customer training sessions.
  • Be the go-to person for the Benelux dealer network for support on product and system applications.
  • Deploy your project management skills and coordinate on larger customer projects or queries that need the support of our internal organisation
  • Employ sales techniques to effectively identify customers' needs through probing and asking relevant questions, and recommend the right solution to customers
  • Engage in sales acquisition to identify business opportunities to open new channels or accounts in order to achieve sales goals.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, industry professionals, and leverage his/ her network for new introductions and achieving sales objectives
  • Take accountability to overcome obstacles and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Know how to navigate the organization and to present ideas in a cohesive way, and in a way that aligns with the organization’s goals
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with his/her supervisors and Lutron colleagues
  • Keep accurate expense records and submit expense reports in a timely manner
  • Keep up to date records in salesforce.com
  • Provide and maintain the highest level of service to customers to enhance Lutron’s reputation and ensure repeat business

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a well organised, motivated and dynamic individual who has experience working in a technical environment with both business to business and end-user sales in the Benelux market.

  • A self-driven and proactive individual who is hungry to grow and achieve goals set out by the management team.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English. German highly desired, French language skill a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Lighting, Custom AV, Window Treatments or related Industry
  • Minimum 3 years of proven sales track record
  • Bachelor’s degree is essential
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to instigate and foster a B2B relationship and help those customers to build their business through consultative selling
  • Proficiency in IT skills and CRM
  • Desire to work as part of a dynamic team and develop a career with an ambitious company
