Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Communications Account Leader to join our Marketing Communications team.  As Account Leader you serve as the key point of contact for assigned business group. As a creative and innovative problem solver with strong organizational and communication skills, you will drive the communication execution of integrated marketing campaigns that support new product launches, sales growth and innovation initiatives for your internal client. Develop a thorough knowledge of the client’s business, the customer, the marketplace specific to the Client’s business unit, the larger organization’s industry and all aspects of advertising, including creative, media, research, and commercial production is key to your effectiveness as a project leader Foster productive communication between business and communications teams, identify common goals, and make sure that the final product is effective for the company. As team leader, you must communicate the client’s needs clearly to the Communications team and plan effectively to maximize staff time and energy.


Key Responsibilities –

Client Relations

  • Understand internal clients’ products, audiences and business objectives, and marketing plans and ensure they are applied appropriately across communications tactics.
  • Understand the business marketing strategy and, working with the business marketing team, convert into a tactical communication plan.
  • Operate as the lead point of contact within Communications for any and all matters specific to assigned business group
  • Drive the quality of service of the communication team for the business
  • Develop and maintain solid client relationships; resolving conflicts; improving communication; and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Campaign/Project Collaboration and Facilitation

  • Drive the execution of communication materials to support the business marketing strategy
  • Lead cross-functional team meetings and facilitate the discussion through both idea generation and assessment of ideas generated by others
  • Aid the development of core brand messaging that effectively communicates the campaign objectives and ensure these messages are effectively executed across the campaign projects
  • Manage client and departmental expectations, as well as communications project execution to meet deadline and budget requirements
  • Collaborate with client to develop the creative brief and ensure there is actionable information that will enable the creative team to create on-target deliverables for the client.
  • Be the client advocate - represent the interests of the client in interactions with creative teams and facilitate project understanding of designers and writers to ensure product delivers on client promises.
  • Manage overall Communications project process from start to finish ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality materials through effective communication of project objectives, milestones and reviews.
  • Provide critical project leadership for creative team of art directors, designers and writers by establishing and monitoring project timelines and managing business priorities to assist with workload balance
  • Ensure the creative team understands client requirements and perspective and the final output aligns as appropriate. Facilitate client interaction with the designers and writers as appropriate.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and advancement of the visual and verbal brand in design reviews for all communication materials.
  • Ensure that consistent image/message is conveyed across the campaign tactics.
  • Provide feedback to project team during internal creative reviews.
  • Lead all strategy, status, project kickoff, and other client and creative team meetings ensuring meeting objectives are met.
  • Appropriately balance client desires, business needs, and marketing standards.
  • Manage costs from outside vendors.

Project Management Expertise

  • Set expectations with clients, e.g., when and what they will see next as part of the creative process, timing expectations, solution response expectations, and follow-up process expectations.
  • Encourage a collaborative approach with departmental team members.
  • Recommend the effective reuse of past materials when appropriate, to minimize client costs.
  • Review and oversee client change requests and respond with schedule impacts along with alternatives.

Operational Management

  • Align business goals, timelines and needs with clients and departmental teams.  Develop, manage and communicate timelines ensuring that all deadlines are maintained.
  • Maintain the “big picture” for campaigns and client requirements ensuring that related deliverables are treated appropriately.
  • Involve direct supervisor as appropriate and alerts him/her to potential challenges and opportunities for the Creative Services team.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a project manager/project driver in an agency, building products manufacturer or reseller of building products. Supervisory experience beneficial but not required.
  • Experience marketing to best practices in the B2B and B2C fields.
  • Strong understanding of the benefits of communications channels, with the ability to match the channel with the client’s communications need.
  • Highly organized; must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task effectively. Strong project management skills and experience meeting aggressive timeline and managing budgets.
  • Experience in multiple aspects of marketing programs – brochures, trade shows, training and sales programs, advertising, web and digital, and press/public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface constructively with clients, sales, marketing, and product development teams. Experience in marketing campaigns and new product introductions.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills. Must be able to communicate ideas to all levels of management.
  • Solid understanding of design and production processes
  • Experience with agency or vendor management
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time, sometimes with little or no notice.
