Engineering Manager

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager in our Puerto Rico facility.  In this position, you would be a key part of the technology-centered and people driven plant leadership team.   A successful Engineering Manager will be a hands on leader that inspires a multi-disciplinary team to excellence in change management and continuous improvement while setting a work environment for individual development.

• Evaluates manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Utilizes continuous feedback by conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assures product and process quality by conducting designs of experiments; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Working with management to establish and attain organizational goals, objectives, and operating budgets
• Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Completes development projects by training and guiding technicians and engineers.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Participates in new product introduction efforts and coordinates all activities required for successful product transfers and introductions to the plant.
• Drives improvement projects geared at improving:
  • DL productivity
  • Equipment Utilization
  • Safety
  • Product Quality
  • Other tasks and assignments as required

• BS Degree in an engineering field (Electical, Mechanical, or Industrial)
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering in electronics and/or mechanical assembly industry preferred.
• Working knowledge of excel and other software tools for data analysis.
• Experience in high mix mid volume manufacturing environments, electronic/mechanical industry preferred.
• Results oriented and self-driven.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethics.
• Complete fluency in English and Spanish in verbal, reading and writing.
