Come join our Commercial marketing team and help us build a dedicated market research team to gather market data to inform our business strategy and product innovation roadmaps. You will work with our Commercial Business Team, including marketing and product management, as well numerous internal and external SME’s to help us dissect and evaluate both market opportunities and the impact of marketing and business development programs on target markets and customer segments.


You will bring expert knowledge of methods for gathering and analysis of market and business data to help drive  B2B and B2B2C business outcomes.  With a demonstrated ability to package data into insights, and working knowledge data and business intelligence platforms, you’ll collaborate to define, quantify and measure outcomes. Combined with your business acumen, and go-to-market planning expertise, underpinned by research, to support sales targeting & solution positioning, in areas such as:

Competitive differentiation

  • New product launches

  • Market feedback loops

  • New market creation & established market innovation

You’ll apply statistical analysis of data, knowledge of public and private data sources and expertise business/customer data platforms, including:
Public and private data sources on commercial construction and real estate: Dodge Construct Data, Co-star Commercial real estate data, Qualtrics, GWI, Nielsen, etc.

  • CRM Platforms: Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo etc.

  • CDPs and audience platforms: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Krux, Adobe Experience Manager, Treasure Data etc.

  • Self-serve & syndicated research tools: Qualtrics, GWI, Simmons, MRI, Kantar, Nielsen, IRI

  • Data visualization and business intelligence tools: Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio, PowerBI, Adverity


  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advance degree preferred.

  • 10-15+ Years in a market research/go to market strategy role at a B2B/B2C Software or Platform company

  • Proven ability to draw insights from research data that positively impact market success

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders including executive leadership, sales leadership and product managers.

  • Expert in various tools and methods common to market research and strategy

  • Strong familiarity with technology – both Lutron solutions and data/business intelligence technology—combined with an ability to communicate with engineers and sales, industry subject matter experts, as well as our customers.

  • Experience leading a data-driven business or strategic business planning or business development process

  • Strategically assessing new opportunities across markets segments and delivering products/offers to small and large businesses and corporations

  • Engaging, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and with current and prospective customers to understand their journey, needs, workflows, and context and a track record of success delivering commercial software offerings to successfully respond to those needs

  • Ability to deliver insightful analysis and modeling and uncover market opportunities

  • Results-oriented, high-energy self-starter with a high level of personal initiative and an attitude of continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated understanding of online and offline data collection, data onboarding and application and data management platforms.

  • Strong understanding of all facets of bringing a product to market, including market analysis, product-market fit, positioning strategy, MVP's, go-to-market strategy, pricing, testing, iterating based on feedback, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering cross-functionally - including superior active listening and communication skills – and the ability to reach shared consensus when appropriate

  • Highly proficient at effectively and constructively working with clients and sales teams to understand and articulate marketplace needs, and to communicate our product capabilities and differentiators.

  • Proficient in the development of competitive assessments and positioning; product planning and roadmap definition; sales training and presentations.

  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with stakeholders, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to crystallize and broadly socialize insights into stakeholder needs that the stakeholders themselves may not effectively articulate; able to properly translate and articulate positioning and technology

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong skills with data analytics and insight tools

This position is a hybrid onsite/partially remote work opportunity:

  • Onsite location at our corporate offices in Coopersburg PA (Lehigh Valley region) or Conshohocken PA (Greater Philadelphia area).

  • Requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the organization, and regular meetings with external vendors and customers.

  • Travel required, less than 20%.
