Overview

The Environment, Health, & Safety (EH&S) Director will provide overall leadership for comprehensive global EH&S programs to keep our employees safe, prevent interruption of business operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and institutionalize the safety culture across the global organization.

Responsibilities




  • Manages the EH&S function across our global facilities, including manufacturing, R&D, distribution centers, office, and field teams. 

  • Manages the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the global EH&S program 

  • Directly supervises the performance, development and career planning of corporate EH&S team and closely collaborates and guides site specific EH&S leaders at all global facilities 

  • Manages the implementation of EH&S objectives, plans, standards, procedures, and policies for a for all facilities  

  • Develops, monitors, and reports on EH&S risk/performance with a focus on effectiveness, continuous improvement, and efficiency

  • Ensures compliance with state and country regulations as well as corporate guidelines and policies

  • Oversees analysis, budget, communication, and integration

  • Drives a Culture of Safety through Education and Engagement

  • Develops and drives employee engagement campaigns to foster EH&S awareness and advocacy

  • Oversees organizational compliance with local, state, federal & country-specific EH&S regulations

  • Supports sites specific inspections and audits with outside regulators such as OSHA and coordinate communications between the site and regulatory agencies as related to EHS matters

  • Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization 

  • Spearheads best practices for site safety, health and environmental inspections, audits, industrial hygiene surveys to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 

  • Provides leadership for site-specific EH&S programs implementation, working with local EH&S leaders, plant managers and human resources 

  • Develops and oversees the delivery of EH&S training for employees, working with site leaders to optimize training for local needs 

  • Reviews all incident investigations and reports and ensures root causes are determined.

  • Develops and share effective actions to prevent reoccurrence with all locations

  • Collaborates cross functionally with key departments including operations, manufacturing, human resources, and engineering to implement EH&S initiatives 

  • Oversees engagements with health, safety, and environmental consultants  



Qualifications


  • BS Degree in engineering, chemistry or occupational health, safety and environmental science or related field (engineering or sciences)

  • Minimum, cumulative, GPA of 3.0 

  • A proven track record of creating and operationalizing EH&S strategy across a complex global organization  

  • Solid track record working with incident investigation, health and safety management systems, OSHA and other regulatory organizations 

  • Experience working with multi-functional facilities including distribution, manufacturing, office, and R&D

  • Professional certifications as ASP, CSP or CIH (Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist) a plus

  • Ability to operate independently and as a team member

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
