Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor at our facility in Austin, TX.  In this position, you would be a key part of the manufacturing team. A successful Production Supervisor will be interested in manufacturing, technology, have a high standard of performance and quality, and enjoy leading teams.  Production Supervisors are responsible for the daily manufacturing output of production teams and the development of team members.

  • Lead within the production area to execute build schedules

  • Oversee production work cell staffing and training requirements to meet production needs

  • Ensure all production area needs related to staffing is maintained

  • Oversee staffing including recruiting and hiring

  • Monitor production work cells for performance and compliance to standard work

  • Implement cross training plans to enhance production flexibility and mitigate risks

  • Evaluate performance and make recommendations for development purposes

  • Lead production area visual management and problem solving

  • Implement and maintain key measurement systems and metrics across the production area

  • Collaborate with safety, quality, materials, engineering, and equipment support teams to maintain or improve key performance criteria related to safety, quality, and productivity

  • Maintain workplace organization standards such as 5S and provide recommendations for work cell improvement

  •  Support daily improvement opportunities and help drive their implementation

  • Identify major improvement opportunities and collaborate with support groups to plan and implement improvement projects

  • Prepare and manage production operating budgets

  • 2 - 4 year degree in Engineering or Operations is preferred

  • If you have a degree, a minimum, cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required 

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing

  • Results oriented and self-driven

  • Excellent analytic skills and sense of urgency 

  • Knowledge of production scheduling and planning

  • Experience developing staff and leading safety, cost, quality, and delivery objectives

  • Must be hands-on with ability to lead problem solving 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethics

  • Must be a strong leader, mentor, and teacher with excellent communication skills and ability to gain buy-in at all levels and drive execution of plan

  • Lean manufacturing / Continuous improvement experience a plus

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is plus (English is required)
